If you farmed LayerZero or zkSync and came out of it feeling like the work didn’t justify the allocation, you’re not wrong. Those campaigns extracted bridging fees and wallet interactions from participants who were never going to use those protocols anyway, then distributed less than the farming community expected. The model was extractive on both sides. Hyperliquid was different because people were actually trading there — the points were on top of an activity that had independent value.
That’s the filter worth applying to every farming target in 2026: would you use this product if there were no points? If the answer is no, the expected value is probably thin. If yes, the math changes significantly.
Catapult Trade passes that filter more cleanly than most things with an active points program right now. It’s a leveraged synthetic chart trading platform — short sessions, tight fee structure, transparent mechanics, cryptographically verifiable price paths. People trade there because the product works, not only because of the score. The score is on top.
On the token situation: confirmed in AMA, no formal announcement. Global Score running since December 2025. KuCoin Ventures in the cap table as of March 2026. The specifics of any distribution are unknown. That uncertainty is normal for this stage.
Can you still compete?
Top 10 currently sits between 4M and 70M points. That spread tells you the leaderboard is still open. Ten place at 4M is reachable. Four months of history isn’t enough to lock anyone out.
The score formula weights trading activity above everything else. Creating charts and posting on X both contribute, but the trader coefficient is an order of magnitude higher. For a new participant, active trading is the path.
Leverage helps. Score accrues from fees on collateral. With up to 125x available on Slow mode, you don’t need to carry large positions to generate meaningful collateral volume. The fee cost of reaching competitive standing is in the low hundreds of dollars over several weeks of consistent activity — real but not punishing relative to what most farming campaigns have cost.
The case in plain terms
If you trade synthetic charts already — Rollbit, similar products — routing that activity through Catapult Trade is free optionality. Nothing changes except the venue, and the Global Score accumulates.
If you’re farming deliberately, the Catapult Trade setup is better than most of what’s currently available: confirmed token, institutional backing, live and contestable leaderboard, documentation that explicitly ties future incentives to score. Not Hyperliquid. But the window is open, and the leaderboard still has room. That won’t be true forever.
